Some of those places aren't for winter... New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Utah, Nevada, No. Calif., Oregon. Are you visiting those places late spring?
We plan to be on the road from December to April. Want to spend a week at Organ Pipes, and maybe 2 weeks at Big Bend. The only place I was worried about was north of Silver City, but locals advised that while cold, we shouldn't have any problems with the roads. And if it snows we are prepared to just hunker down until its clear. So excited
