It may not be too tough on one's rig once it's at the anti-washboard speed sweet spot - HOWEVER getting up to that speed and coming down from it can do a world of damage.
I'll find out just how good Nevada boondock roads are - as we hope to get into Nevada's Virgin Valley area this summer or early fall. I have no problem traveling 5-10 MPH for hours on back roads if necessary ... I'm probably getting great gas mileage at those kind of speeds anyway. (I hope Nevada roads are better than those remote roads in the Utah test range I used to drive on when in the AF.)
