If you pick Roundout you will be north of the city by a few hours - Hudson Valley region. Great area if you want to stay and see some upstate sights. Especially if you have a small car stop by the Walkway Over The Hudson and take a walk over the longest pedestrian bridge. It crosses the Hudson River and has great views of the river. Then take a boat ride on the river.
