You posted this, so you are no doubt familiar with this device and it meets your needs. To me, looking at the web site, the device is nothing more than a water treatment device that makes tap water/or other treated water, taste better, while sitting on the Kitchen Counter.
For Boondocking, (IMHO) you would need something that would treat/filter water from sources such as ponds, lakes, streams and rivers. This device lacks the mechanics to, in fact, filter particulates that are commonly found in untreated water. But, the above linked item is what fits your needs, so be it.
One thing is important to know, for those that are looking for devices to filter and treat raw water (untreated water), is that you need to find some, and find a way to get to it. This is often the factor, in the west United States, which makes filtering water a moot point, from these sources. A better effort would be alternate means of transporting water, as your supply grows low, or good planning for potable water replenishing. A good way is tracking your water use, by not relying on the often inaccurate "Idiot Lights" that are supplied in many of our RVs.
Simply throwing out a hose, sucking in water, from a stream, lake, then filtering it is often out shadowed by throwing a water tank on the back of an outbound motorcycle/jeep, for the day. Then bringing it back to "base camp" for filtering/treatment. Or stop at a location that has some potable water. That is what I would encourage one to plan for, as an alternate scenario. This is what I utilize, a motorcycle.
