  • It's the dust factor that keeps me away. I tend to get really agitated in high dust environments. If it weren't for that...man...I'd be there.

And to those that say..'if only I was younger'....are you kidding me? Is that really what you want to be saying? Just go, for heavens sake.

  • I've never been to Burning Man, but have seen articles on the television about it, read articles on the Internet, and seen the web-sites. Now, I would absolutely love to go .... IF I WERE 45 YEARS YOUNGER!
  • When my son was in college, he went with a bunch of friends in a motor home -- they had to be careful about water, but it was available. And yes, the dust gets into everything -- he borrowed a sleeping bag and it was very hard to clean. I imagine that the engine air filter would take quite a beating -- not sure how you would protect your machinery from the abrasive effects of the dust.

He said that I would have hated it -- lots of wild behavior. Not my kind of thing. But thank goodness, it is still a free country, and folks who like that sort of thing can enjoy it, and I don't have to watch it!
  • Haven't been but would love to attend! Some of my closest "degenerate" friends (two doctors, one dancer, and two retired RVers) try to attend every year. I'd love to experience the freedom to just "be", without restriction, nor judgement.
I just can't get passed the talcum powder-like sands that permeate everything. One of these days, perhaps...
  • Might be great for some folks...but not me. Too many people (crazies) in one place at the same time.

  • I live about seventy miles from the Black Rock Desert. That thing has been going on for more than 20 years, I have never been. There is no way I would subject my family to the degenerates that attend that "festival."
  • I've never been there, I have read about the experience.
I would love to go, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
Also, I thought I read that there are water trucks available if you need to buy water.
If you go, please tell us about your experience.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, read about it. :(
