- nevadanickExplorerLots of Burner trash along I80 now. Amazing how much stuff they loose.
- 1rickwExplorerAlready lived through the 60's. I don't have to revisit.
- fly-boyExplorerIf you were in the "degenerate collecting business" Burning Man would be very ripe hunting grounds. Don't get me wrong- lots of semi normal people at Burning Man too!
- caverNomadIt's a nice place to camp outside of the BM season. BLM keeps the area closed for a couple weeks after the event. I got there after it was reopened to the public and there was still some stuff going on with cleanup....looked like dirt moving and such. First day there I rode across the playa to visit a hot spring on my dual sport. I got caught in a dust storm on the way back and had to rely on my GPS on which way to head back to camp on the opposite side of the playa.
- atreisExplorerThat picture reminds me of the absolute worst of the pack-em-in type campgrounds... No thanks.
- g1gExplorerI was never there but if I was 30-35 years younger I would do it. Maybe if I knew about it before I may have went and met the co-founders of Google and become a partner. Oh well another billion dollars I lost out on.

Got lost everyday. Write down your address as soon as you park and attach it to your bike. The biggest problem was when you decide to head back to camp you relize you are about two miles away. But if you need anything such as water, food, or a place to rest or sleep somebody will be offering those things to you before you get 100 yards. Most important things when you leave camp are goggles and dust mask (for the dust storms that kick up), and a cup to drink from.
Thanks! Sounds like any gear like cameras or video will get sandblasted. Never thought about goggles or mask. Glad you mentioned it. - StarkNakedExplorer IIJust in case any of you are headed this way.....
Rainstorms forced the organizers of Burning Man to cancel the desert free-for-all's opening day this week and ask attendees to postpone their travel plans until "at least Tuesday morning." The roads leading into Nevada's Black Rock Desert were deemed "un-drivable" by the event producers, who also reported standing water on the playa that serves as the event's grounds via Facebook. State patrolmen are redirecting traffic bound for the Burning Man site, and local police are turning away cars at the event entrance and encouraging them to find a safe place to park. Burning Man organizers said they hoped the rains would stop in time for the playa to dry out by midday Tuesday.
