Part of the issue (digital vrs film) is that only the very best digital cameras are just now, finally, recently, reaching the point where they have the same dynamic range as films.
That is to say, where film would show detail in a "dark" and "light" areas, digital tends to not have the ability to do both.
Which is why I love the digital software that helps with that.
