If you're still experimenting with software, try ACDsee (Pro). The non Pro version is free and Pro has a trial period. I started using it probably 15 years ago just to download/manage photos. Edit features were added as new versions were released...it's very powerful now. It's not Photoshop, more a utility, but works great on lighting, effects, alterations to photos. Not much software has been supported over that amount of time...the Co. mission seems to be more of a hobby, crowd pleaser than a money generator.
tried to download the aCDsee free version. got past step one, step 2 required me to accept some tool bar, etc., which normally you can click off the box and not do it but this had no such option.
