Arizona RV Snowbird parks to tour for future stay

We will be visiting the Phoenix area next week and planning to tour southern AZ RV parks for next winters snowbird season.

What parks would you recommend we tour for planning 2017-2018 winter season.

We are open to all areas from Prescott to Tucson.

We prefer larger sites... not the parking lot style where you're on top of your neighbors.

Being close to shopping or venues is not important. Nearby hiking would be a plus.

Its just the wife and I with our dog. We are over 55 but open to family parks too.

I don't want to spend more than I have to... but cost is not that important. I'd rather take a shorter trip staying at a great park vs staying longer at park that's not so great.

RV is a 2014 Cedar Creek 5th wheel.

Thanks

posting on the snowbird forum too... hope thats OK.

  • Desert Trails RV Park and Diamond J RV Park in South West Tuscon are next to each other and both border the desert where there are extensive trails for walking, hiking and bicycling. It's about 8 miles to shopping and restaurants so it is quiet with only the coyotes and occasionly some neighborhood dogs making noise at night. Diamond J has fairly large sites and Desert Trails has more activities.
Here is the desert behind our camper.

  • Come visit Canyon Vistas RV Resort at 6601 E US Highway 60, Gold Canyon, AZ. We are a few minutes east of Apache Junction at the foot of Superstion Mountain. Out of the busy traffic and in clean air, but close to the big City (Phoenix). Check out our Resident website at mycanyonvista.com

I'm not associated with the park management or owners .... just a resident who has been here for 10 years and love the park
