Arizona Spring Training

I know this is a lot to ask, but are there any RV Resorts/Parks close to the spring training games that have lots of grassy areas or hedges that separate the sites? We just prefer more grass around than a concrete paved lot.
  • I for one isn't looking forward to Spring Training, leaving near a Stadium is nothing but a severe pain in the back side.
  • Probably more around the Phoenix area, which is basically in the middle of all the ballparks. Have tickets for Maryvale Stadium & Phoenix Municipal Stadium already, waiting for others to go on sale.
  • Still waiting to here some details from the OP. But RV parks in Mesa ( eg. Cal-am.com) give pretty good access to : the new Cubs Stadium (Wrigley west), Talking Stick ball fields ( Co Rockies and AZ Diamond Backs) Phoenix Stadium. And freeway access to the parks in the farther west ball parks.
  • I think there is a stay limit at those campgrounds so if you want to be there for the entire Spring season, you will have to stay at one of the many parks in the area or move during your stay. We went a couple of years ago and attended all the Cubs games. Most of the private parks in the area are gravel or concrete with little or no grass but did have vegetation in the campgrounds. The one we stayed at in Apache Junction did not even allow dog walking in the park. People had to take their dogs outside the park to take care of business.

I know from experience if you want to stay at Usery Mountain Park, you need to make reservations ASAP. It's a very popular place in the spring.

  • Need to narrow down where you want to stay or which team you would like be closer to, games are played all over the valley. Many miles apart. Some in Mesa, Surprise, Peoria, Scottsdale etc.
