Northern Arizona is cold in Jan. and Feb. It is not a good time to visit Grand Canyon. Also, I would not travel on I-40. It is not uncommon to have snow and even blocking I-40. Instead, I would go south and pick up I-10 as soon as I could. All but the I-10 corridor across New Mexico will be cold also. If you are wanting warm daytime temperatures and sunshine you need to get as far as Tucson. People winter in Demming, NM and Benson, AZ but if I am going to the SW for the winter, which I do, I would go to the central valley which is south of Phoenix to Casa Grande and west to Yuma.
