i wintered in bullhead city area (just south of it) and trust me snow closes I-40 several times a year, and the grand Canyon is a SUMMER place. remember elevation in the winter is your enemy . we were traveling in severl inches of UNPLOWED road in Tucson last year on Feb 21'st on I-10
