Arizona/New Mexico in the winter--lots of questions!

We do the same route but start in IL. Usually we have water in use by our second night, in southern AR. Just play it by ear. If you can't do anything before you leave home, then when get to your night's stop, check the forecast and decide if you want to de-winterize. I agree that it's better to put some water in the tank than to use the hose overnight if it's going to get close to freezing.
