Arrowhead Campground in Myrtle Beach

Does anybody hear remember Arrowhead campground. When I was a kid we would stay here every summer for vacation. I was wondering if anybody had any photos that they would like to share of the campground. I was only a kid but I can remember that it was a pretty nice CG.

I'm just wondering if that was the place I tented at back in 1967. A college buddy of mine and I headed to Myrtle Beach just before going backt o school. We hit a ton of resistance back then because we were in our late teens and without our families so none of the 'family' campgrounds would let us camp. There was only one campground along the beach that would let us stay but I can't remember the name of it. I do remember it was south of The Bowery bar. The drinking age for beer in SC back then was 18 so it suited us Canadian boys just fine since back home the drinking age was 20.

  • The first place we ever camped at the beach back in l967! We loved it and camped there every year until our children got to be teenagers and didn't want to camp with us any more. We really missed it after it closed. Any pictures would not be digital and I doubt if I could find them. We had friends who also camped there every year until it closed. Great memories!

:?:? It's been closed for more years than I can remember
  • Lake Arrowhead CG? My folks first took us there in 1966 and we fell in love with the place. Stayed there a few more times after that but I guess it was sold and turned into condos or something. Any photos would be in the possession of my parents.

I distinctly remember tents and tent trailers comprising the vast majority of the units in the CG. Rich people had travel trailers but even those were not the size of the average TT today. Only the incredibly wealthy had motorhomes..........
  • My family camped there for years. I would have to search for some photos. We camped in a tent and I have fond memories of those times.
    Now condos occupy that area.
