Asheville in October?

I'm going to rent an TT from Fort Bragg and head for the mountains in October to see the leaves. Can anyone recommend a park to try? Or perhaps one to avoid? Thanks!

Black Forest CG near Brevard is a good place, seated in the waterfall region. Tons of scenic hikes lead to great waterfalls, if you are into that stuff. We were there last October and had a blast.
  • Moonshine Creek. A little down the road near Waynesville but worth it.
  • I'm sitting in a great spot overlooking valley that has to be gorgeous in the fall . Campfire Lodgings.
  • We loved Mama Gertie's.
When we could not get a spot at Mama's, we stayed at KOA east. They were friendly and helpful, but we did like Mam's better.
Lake Powhatan gets great reviews, but was fully booked for our dates. Might be full for October, too, but worth checking.
