Need recommendations for campgrounds with full hookups around Astoria or surrounding areas. Pulling a 27 foot TT. We will be traveling at the end of July. Any information will be appreciated

There is a KOA right across the road from Fort Stevens state park. There are your two best choices

Good recommendations above. We camp a lot at Fort Stevens..KOA is right across the street....July $80 with the "resort fee."Ft. Stevens $30.Take your bikes..great paved trails.Late July...Make reservations NOW...especially for full Hook up.

KOA or Ft Stevens or across the Astoria Bridge is Cape Dissappointment SP in Washington. You better make reservation.

Fort Stevens is a good Oregon State Parks campground that's not too far away: http://www.oregonstateparks.org/Haven't been there with our new TT yet but I tent camped there years ago and we liked it. It does get pretty busy in the summer though.Alternative would be to go to the Washington side of the Columbia and try out one of their parks. I haven't camped at any of them yet but I've driven through Cape Disappointment and it seemed nice enough.http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/region/?selectedregion=pacificcoastEither way, it's not too long a drive to Astoria and you'll want to make a reservation as soon as possible. The Long Beach peninsula is worth a visit if you have time. There's something like 29 miles of sand beach that you can drive on. And the food at Jimella and Nancy's Market & CafeJimella & Nancy's Market & Cafe is literally 5 star class.Hope this helps.Chris

Cape Dissapointment(CDSP) has full hookups. You can also say you went to Waikiki beach if you go to CDSP. Long Beach is also very near. Also a Private park at Ocean Park( end of Long Beach Penninsula) called Ocean Park Resort. Also a must see is Jack's Country Store in Ocean Park Washington.

Take a look at Lewis & Clark Golf RV Park http://www.astoriaoregonrvpark.com/rv_park.php they say Astoria but it is actually Warrenton. Here are some reviews http://rvparkreviews.com/regions/Oregon/Astoria.html

We've done both Ft. Stevens and Cape Disappointment. We have easily visited Astoria from both. Easy drive.

Be sure to go to the Maritime Museum; a super testimonial to Coast Guard search and rescue teams.

We have been in both Cape Disappointment and Ft. Stevens. Both are good parks with about the same space between campsites.

Ft. Stevens is a larger park, it is spread out and it is just bigger than CD. The facilities, grass and trees are all very nice at Ft. Stevens. We did not feel crowded.

Cape Disappointment is a smaller park, the roads are narrower. It is on the water which is nice, but more so it is just different from Ft. Stevens.

Its easier to get into Ft. Stevens make reservations for Cape Disappointment.

I personally think both are very good state parks.

We stayed at Cape Disappointment for the second time last summer and took a drive over to Ft Stevens to see what it was like. Waaaaaay more crowded. At least that's how it felt, and we weren't even towing when we went through. And if you are leaving at the time that the other campers are and need to use the dump station, better plan on an extra hour getting out of the park, or go around out the back way. There were actually rangers out directing traffic so people could get out of the park.

Cape Disappointment, on the other hand, has more open space. You are right on the beach and have full hookups.

Ft. Stevens is incredible and I would never miss an opportunity to stay there.
