The southern unit of the Theodore Roosevelt NP in North Dakota is called the Badlands. Well worth a visit. It's not overrun with tourists.

The northern unit is worth a visit too. We spent several days at both units. What a difference of terrain between the two. Very early in the morning is a great time to spot various wildlife.
