Badlands

We want three nights as close to the Badlands as possible - already have a week in Custer. We want to be able to get up early and go for morning hikes. However the national Park campground is not available for our dates. What else is nearby?

We are pulling a 27' travel trailer so Save Creek is not an option.

Yeah if that is the KOA in Scenic SD it is an excellent camp spot plus it is right outside the park entrance.

We stayed there last year, good enough to be close to the entrance. No cell signals, and there were a billion gnats when we were there (middle of September).

    Thank you, Doctor Google. :R

  • Or Sleepy Hollow Campground in Wall, walk to Wall Drug and the town of Wall is at the western edge of the Park and surprisingly close - Good Sam rates it 8.5/8 - I really liked the location to explore both the park and Wall
We have stayed there twice in the last few years

We have stayed at the KOA also and prefer Sleepy Hollow - people in their reviews from as late as last fall still report there is no cell service at the KOA - we had to drive out of the campground up a hill to get service
