The seaweed has been accumulating on the beaches at Bahia Honda for years and the Florida State Park admin will not let you remove it. Many years ago we camped at Long Key SP and they allowed the removal of the seaweed from your access to the ocean, but stopped it in the late 1990s.
We camped there from Jan-May from 1996-2006 and the seaweed was a problem in those months. I don't know about the summer months, but would assume it would be a problem then.
It became such a hassle to get a reservation at BH, Long Key & Curry Hammock so we quit going to the Keys. It used to be a great place to spend the winter months.
Good luck.
