A couple of years ago now, we spent 2 weeks at Bar Harbor Oceanfront KOA. We had a waterfront site, which was easily the most beautiful and picturesque site we've ever occupied. And the most expensive @ $95/nt back then (no sewer hookups on waterfront sites).
Every night in the center of the CG, a guy comes in and cooks up lobsters and corn on the cob for sale. Decently priced and totally awesome! You can rent kayaks and paddle the area, which is well protected.
The CG is a short ride to Acadia or the town of Bar Harbor. The non-waterfront sites are nothing to get excited about, so if the price of those turns you off, look elsewhere......
