Camp Hatteras in NC is right on the beach. One side of the CG is on the ocean and the other side is on the sound. Right next door is the Hatteras KOA, recently rebuilt after suffering hurricane damage a couple of years ago.
It's about dead center in the strand. You can drive north up to Currituck and see the wild horses and Kitty Hawk.
Or you can drive south and catch the ferry boat over to Ocracoke Island, and enjoy the wildlife and light house climb along the way.
