Beacon Rock State Park, WA

I know that the park website states that the camping area is more suited to tents than to RVs but it does say there are a few sites for smaller RVs. Anyone stayed there and what is it like? Thanks.

  • just down the road is Timber Lake a really nice park in Home Valley. Big rigs fit.
  • I'm not sure, but believe that Beacon Rock SP is quite close to the main railroad tracks of BNSF, but I could be wrong. If true, quite a few trains run along that track on the north side of the Columbia. Someone more familiar with the park can possibly point out if my thinking is correct or not.
  • The campground itself is pretty and wooded, but definitely more suitable for tent camping. You'd have trouble even driving a bigger trailer or RV around the loop. There are some RV sites, but it's pretty much a separate campground -- across the highway and down a bit. The RV area is open and grassy, more like a park, and it's just a few sites. It's been a year and a half, but I *think* the area in the center here is the RV sites. It's well hidden, we didn't even find it until after we had driven around the campground and decided to stay somewhere else instead.

  • If you google. " beacon rock state park camping" there are several pictures of different sites. Some look big enough for yours. The road is fairly narrow though so getting into them might be a challenge.
  • Nice wooded park. Years ago we had a 29ft motor home and since we live 45 mins away we checked it out to see if we would fit. Nope. Not even close. Maybe a little pop up trailer , pickup camper, or very small motor home
