Ludington is about 1/2 mile walk to Lake Michigan. You can camp on the shore of a small inland lake. The campsites do not have beaches on the inland lake and many are blocked-off from open water by a boardwalk.
Hoffmaster is a closer walk to Lake Michigan, and they have several large dunes to play on.
