All you will see on any west side shore of a one of the Great Lake's shorelines is the morning sun rising as you'll be facing east and that's where the sun comes up.
On the east side shore of one of the Great Lakes shorelines, you'll see most beautiful sunsets you can imagine almost every night as the sun sets on the western horizon.
Shores facing north or south basically miss both sun rises and sunsets!
There's only a couple campgrounds where you can see the sunset over the water on the Great Lake's right from your RV patio or windows and the campsites will be small in size and not far apart because the shoreline land would cost a very min of $10,000 per shoreline foot or even $25,000 per foot meaning it's ultra expensive to own and other than a state park or county park which is state owned land for 50 to 100+ years now would be unbelievably expensive for any private ownership and then having spacious campsites too? Wouldn't happen!
We have been to every Michigan State Park (all over 100 of them) in our 52 years of RV'ing for instance and know and besides, we have lived very near Grand Haven State Park for over 75 years now. We see the huge lake, the state park, and the beach plus sunsets every day over Lake Michigan! The GHSP is incredibly popular and it's huge, and there's so much to do at the park or just a stroll on the very popular wide fancy boardwalk to a very clean downtown along the river thru very well maintained park after park with so many venues and constant scenery with flush bathrooms and fine couch like benches plus food and beverages and boats, marina's, and even very large ships coming and going to enjoy of which are all free except for the food to enjoy plus live entertainment downtown everyday plus sidewalk cafe's. At GHSP, the beach is right out your RV door as is the vast lake.
If you want to walk about 1/4 mile or more to the shoreline from your campsite, P J Hoffmaster 5 miles north of GH is superb as the CG is behind the tall sand dunes but you walk between the dunes, not over them. All the Michigan SP's on the great Lake's shorelines CG's on the east shores or west shores have electric hookups (30 amp is just a couple and 30/50 amp electric in nearly all.
It all depends on what you want to do or see!
