Even when I'm not traveling I'm traveling on my tablet LOL! We've already had our big vacation this year outwest and loved it and am now looking for next year's trip!! I would like to know if there is a State Park campground that sits right on any of the Great Lakes that has Waterview sites??? I will even consider private campgrounds as long as the sites are very very roomy! One of the things that I can't handle from private parks is that sometimes you are stacked right on top of each other and we can't stand that! We would like at a minimum of electric at each site and full hookup would be a dream LOL! We appreciate any input that will turn into another wonderful trip!!

look at geneva state park on lake erie. not right on the water but across the street.

Two of my favorites: Wilderness State Park, MichiganFisherman's Island State Park, MichiganBoth offer campsites directly on beaches of Lake Michigan, and you're not stacked like sardines

Sterling State Park neat Monroe is close for you and a very nice, clean and not overcrowded State park with right on the water / beach campsites.

Check out Munising Tourist park in Munising MI. in the UP. Very nice.

Kohler Andre sate park in Wisconsin campsite 74 book it early.

Lake Erie state park in Brocton, N.Y. is nice, with a few sites on a bluff, over the lake.

Others mentioned these 2... Wilderness SP and Union Bay, I highly endorse them also.

Don't overlook Minnesota's Hwy 61. WE stayed at Lamb's Resortnear Schroeder Mn., great place.

Lake Superior Provincial Park, Agawa Bay CG is very very nice also.

McLain SP north of Houghton has some campsites with a good view of Lake Superior.

At one time, they would allow "overnight parking" on US2 just Est of The Bridge in MI UP. The beach was just over the small dune.

GHSP is certainly on the beach... OP requested camping that wasn't stacked on top of each other.

I'll second Munising tourist park and Wilderness state park, they have sites directly on the water, there are more but these are ones we stayed at. . There are a lot of beach campgrounds but most of them require a short walk.

Can't believe you guys forgot Grand Haven State Park. The campground is literally on the beach, with sand everywhere, paved camping pads, and no vegetation.
