Stayed at both Liberty Harbor ad Cherry Hill in July. Both worked out very well.
The convenience of Liberty Harbor is worth the extra cost. Ignore some old photos lingering on Trip Advisor that show a scary-looking building next to the RV park. It's all finished as an upscale office building and, in fact, the neighborhood is quite gentrified for walking to the Path train. The ferry back from Wall Street (weekday only) is a very lovely cruise around the tip of Manhattan past the Statue of Liberty.
Cherry Hill is a full service RV park and close in, safe suburban area for DC. Their little restaurant by the pool area is great! Just what we needed after busy days. The laundry is huge. They do a full briefing for visitors on everything first timers might need to know about public transportation and sites to visit.
