As several have said, there are other "campier" RV parks, but Liberty Harbor is close, it's unusually quiet to be in the city and it is so close to everything you want to do. The commute into the city is less than 15 minutes unless you try to go in/out at 7:30-9:00 am or 4:00-5:30.
It is expensive, but with the cost of the commute from other places, it can make up for it quickly. The PATH train into the city is $2.50 per person. The water taxi is about $10.00 per person, so it was worth it for us to walk the 3 blocks to the PATH.
We have 2 DDs who are 10 and 7. We walked back from the PATH train several evenings/nights after 10pm and never felt uncomfortable.
When we were there, we had a 2 year old 35' TT that was really nice. We went to bed the first night with sites on either side of us open. We heard one pull in about 11:00, but didn't really pay any attention to it. The next morning, we went out and we were between two Prevost motorcoaches. WE WERE THE TRAILER TRASH in the neighborhood. That being said, they were both very friendly and we had several interesting conversations with them about our travels.
