We stayed at a state park near the Folsom Reservoir which was nothing to write home about but riding the bike trail was the destination. It is at the uphill end of the trail so you'll have a climb (pretty good ad the end) heading back. That trail is really nice. I discovered it when on a work trip. I had a road bike so I was riding it daily. One of the best paved trails around.
