Betwn Sacramento - Redding - RV Park Recommendation/

Been down in San Luis Obispo area for death in family - tomorrow heading North towards Redding ..

We want to take it slower going home to SE Washington, so would like some recommendations for RV Parks along the way ... we would like to get further than Sacramento tomorrow, but having a tough time finding a little rv park which has pull thrus to zip into and out of ..

Yes, we have looked at Heritage RV Park, Corning, and that looks like 352 miles, kinda would like to stop a little sooner, is that possible?

Please don't ask us to look at RV-PARK-REVIEWS we have - and know the roads are torn up between here and Sacramento as came down on those on Fri/Sat last week.

We found Big Pines in Crescent Oregon to be our choice of "returning to rv parks" if that gives you a clue as to what we are looking for .. however ... at this point just need some help, please.

On Edit : pulling 18 ft. travel trailer with Suburban 2500.

  • I-505 and I-5 merge at Dunnigan just south of the Happy Time RV Park.

Another option might be the KOA in West Sacramento.
  • There are two RV parks at Dunnigan. If you are coming up I-505 or I-5, the first RV park is on the right at the Pilot Truck Stop (Road 9). The name is Happy Time RV Park.

The other one is Campers Inn (campersinnrv.com). They have a lot of trees and a small golf course. I believe they may have a small store also.

Happy Time would be the easiest to get to for freeway access and it's the newest of the two.
  • :h Lower Salt Creek Shoreline Campground - Lakehead, California

    Shasta-Trinity National Forest

Only been through that area once ('97), we did an overnight by Lake Shasta. Not sure of the name of the site. More or less a parking lot campsite if I remember correctly.

Edit PS: Just looked on a map, looks like all the above are above Redding & you want some below.

Have you looked around the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex, located approximately 90 miles north of the city of Sacramento:

Colusa-Sacramento River State Recreation Area - Camping- This area is currently being run by the town of Colusa. Electricity and water are not available. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=461

Black Butte Lake - Camping and hiking, overseen by the Army Corp of Engineers COE Black Butte Lake

Orland RV Parks Site with links to other Cities With RV Parks
-Corning, CA - 18.72 miles NW
    Chico, CA - 19.15 miles E
Los Molinos, CA - 21.89 miles NE

Corning has several, even an I-5 RV Park At Rolling Hills Casino
