Big Sur Campgrounds and Forest closed
Looks like fire has reached the Big Sur area off California Coast. Evacuating all campers and visitors now. Smoke over Highway 1. Hope you did not have reservations. This may be a BIG mess.

- Good source for local news on the fire: ksbw.com, more evacuations today.
- There is actually still a slight, smoky haze here in the Reno area from the distant fires in Monterey County and Santa Clarita area.
- Here's what Inciweb (official fire news) says:
"All California State Parks from the Point Lobos State Natural Reserve through Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park are closed until further notice; which includes Andrew Molera State Park, Pfeiffer Big Sure State Park Campground and Day Use and Point Sur Historic Lighthouse."
