An article appeared in the Salida Mountain Mail earlier this week saying Parks and Wildlife and the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area (AHRA) were in discussions with BLM on taking over this site at Salida East. The article gave the email and phone number and email for BLM for comments. The article did not mention who instigated it thought I would be fairly certain it would be AHRA. No public hearings were mentioned. I do not know any more than that.
I have zero interest in debating it on this forum with someone who is concerned about camping at Walmart or thinks this is "my private boondocking site". It is used by hundreds of people every year. Maybe an average of 10-12 campers a weeknight and maybe 30+ on weekends.
If you feel as I do and are interested in writing or calling the BLM great. If not fine too.
