Len, you are right that it will not be a perfect solution. But they say that "the best is the enemy of the good." Doing nothing means that the bad guys ruin it for the rest of us. If the sticker program were to be accompanied by a bump in the number of rangers designated for enforcement, that could cut back on the abuse, so that the rest of us can keep on boondocking.
If other folks have other ideas about what can be done to preserve our right to boondock, while doing something about the bad guys whose behavior is going to destroy those rights eventually, I sure would like to hear them. Just telling the Feds "hands off" is not realistic. You should see the devastation in places like the El Dorado National Forest in California, where the bad guys have made a huge mess of many boondocking areas. The current system can't be sustained.
