Here is another article about funding problems faced by federal land management agencies. Clearly Congress has been cutting their budgets:
http://www.wyofile.com/bridger-teton-national-forest-poster-child-neglect/There have been suggestions on this forum that federal agencies start charging a boondocking fee. While that would be better than turning over management to the states, I would rather see boondockers contact their congressmen and put pressure on them to adequately fund federal land management. The federal budget is based on priorities and federal land management agencies are losing out.
This is unacceptable! I have been paying taxes most of my 67 years. Congress has chosen to use my tax dollars to expand a wide range of social programs, none of which benefited me personally. Over the years, I wrote numerous letters to my elected officials cautioning them that their spending on social programs is unsustainable. Now that they are nearing financial disaster, they want to cut federal land management which is very important to me. MADDENING!
