I went with the .com folks.... Had a much better feeling when I got off the phone with them.. AND Once I got there , it was like they were our long lost best friends.. very accommodating . . . While we generally do not have a problem with the cost, I don't like making reservations not knowing what it is going to cost me. They had the price posted, took it down after I made reservations, then tell me the price is subject to change and that they don't have the price for the time and won't until a few months before hand (couple months after I inquired about reservations). Then add the additional fees that it will cost me (based on previous rates apparently) of $6/night for a 13 yr old and for them to store a tow dolly. Then I hear the rates typically go up 10-12% a year. So now you are adding another $10 dollars or so. The waterfront lot that was gonna cost me just over $100/night in the off season (according to the rate they had posted), can now cost me in excess of $130/night. $30/night more than what they had posted.
No doubt that it's a great place. We have not written them off. Just a little frustrating. You would think that they would have the rates settled more than a few months before off season starts. And not expect them have them posted and pull them down. If they are gonna change, then don't put them up in the first place. Put a comment that the rates have not been set and give a timeframe of when they will be. Kind of like going to a restaurant and ordering from a menu. After you order, the waiter comes back 5 minutes later and gives you another menu with no prices on it and tells you the prices may change (or are subject to change without notice). Then he asks you, do you still want the same order?
