If you are still interested in staying in the Keys, we have a site at Venture Out Resort, on Cudjoe Key, and about 10 miles from Bluewater.
It's NOT as nice as Bluewater, but it's in the lower Keys, on the Atlantic side and has all the amenities you could ask for, including a beautiful pool, marina and boat ramp. Our site is not on the water, but there are waterfront sites available. Venture Out is also all privately owned and some of us rent our sites out when we're not going to be there. You would be involved directly with the owner or a rental agent of their choosing...not the resort, so it's much easier to get information. PM me if you would like more info.
