. . . Wife & I were Campground Hosts near YNP. . .Out of about 44 campsites there were on average about 8 that did not get used, AND, we could not give them away until after about 10AM next day if the people did not show up for the 1st nite paid. . .So, lots of folks wondering why we could not let them camp there if the site was not occupied. . .We did not make the rules but I think 1st come, 1st served OR a HEFTY FINE if you do not show up. . . Lots of UNHAPPY campers looking at unused - BUT paid for - sites. . .Made me sad to see this happen. . . Also, on another note. . .My parents were immigrants & went thru the DEPRESSION; my wife is a 3rd world immigrant. . .Campers nowadays are so, so , so WASTEFUL & UNCARING about recycling & wasting good food!!!! . . . Filet mignon, wine, beer, propane lamps, beautiful produce, unopened steaks, hot dogs, & on & on & on thrown in the garbage. . .Really upset my wife to see this. . .. . .Just my thoughts about this & understand we are all different. .
