We are boondockers..... We don't have a Roadtrek. I was surprised that campground owners resent us!!!! But I shouldn't be surprised. One of the reasons you aren't allowed to boondock at the turnouts on the Oregon coast is because campground owners objected. Instead of being angry with Roadtrek or boondockers, in general, you'd think they would try to capture the boondockers for a little $$$. Some campgrounds we've been to have boondocking areas for a minimal price. However, I know this isn't an option for some campgrounds or rv parks.
So let's do some calculating. I'll guess the average park space is $30. a night......100 spaces in the RV park. That's $3000 a night if full. Times 30 days in the month -- that's $90,000. a month. Times 12 months ---$1,080,000 a year. Let's say you're only full half the time or half that year....that's still $5.4 million a year. Do I feel sorry for you .....NO. I know, I know - you have to pay for the land, the insurance, the staff. But YOU chose to do that. WE choose to boondock. There's times we go to the little mom and pop parks when we need to hook up. Yes, the ones with the crappy neighbors or the not so clean bathrooms. It's our way of keeping the small businessman in business.
Did I go off-topic here???? Oh well, I haven't had my second cup of coffee. :) of my soap box now. Everyone, have a nice day.
