We have friends who live at Hilton Head and would like to stop for a visit. They live in a condo and there is no where we could park the motor home there. Does anyone know of somewhere in the area we could boondock just for an overnight? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I visited Hilton Head two or three times visiting friends. That is a pretty HIGH $$ establishment - Even the WALMART is hide back off the road and you have to know it is there otherwise you will miss it. Guess the HIGH $$ folks there don't want to show their rich neighbors where they are shopping heheThey don't even have a good pull out anywhere to gain access to the beach. We had to park our truck back on some side streets and do some walking to view the main beach.I never really researched it out for boondocking but I really doubt you will find anything... My big impression was too rich a place for this old PLOW BOY from Illinois and Texas haha...Of course we were the outsiders and it may be a totally different story... good luck...Roy ken

Try the Walmart on 278 on the way in to Hilton head. We have spent a night there. There are two campgrounds on the island. The motorcoach resort and the marina campground. I doubt you'll find anyplace on the island to boondock and the Walmart is a ways away.

There's times to boondock at a friends when they have allowable space. However if they do not have a space, plan to use a CG. HH has 2 nice CG's. The prudent thing to do is just stay at one of the CG's

There is a Lowe's on the way in before your cross over onto the island. This might be a possibility. Would not hurt to give the mgr. a call.
