And definitely do not sink a lot of money into solar or a gas generator or whatever until you get the seal of approval from the lady.
My wife agreed to try boondocking one time, on a trial basis only. She was hooked, and I then upgraded my system so we could boondock a lot more. (No solar, unfortunately -- we camp in very deep shade almost all the time. If you are in the sun, solar is absolutely the best, in my opinion.)
I don't think she will have any trouble with it. She enjoys hunting and fishing and will go hunting with me every weekend during season. Were both in our early 50's and enjoy getting away from town so I think it all work out just trying to keep any uh ohs to a minimum.
