Having spent 30+ years in CA and boondocking I always carried.
Lots of METH heads out in the boonies and they are paranoid and armed.
CA deserts are prime areas and one never knows WHO is already out there.
Course I grew up using weapons, did Cowboy Action Shooting for years, had CCW (in CA and other states after LEAVING CA), training and exercising that training.
Should others carry.....that is a personal choice and a RIGHT
BUT with that choice comes very heavy responsibility which can be a heavy burden.
Training, practice, knowing when/where and being able.
Choices/responsibility ---neither should be taken lightly
