I agree with this -- both counts. I have camped in many, many way out of the way, far off the beaten path places, and I have never even SEEN another person while camping.
(well, there was Whazoo that one time, does that count? But that wasn't boon docking)
Technically speaking, boon docking is camping for free on public land. Dispersed camping would / could be the same. I'd say you were boon docking at Whazoo.
