If you are camping where there are other people around, it isn't my definition of boondocking, it is camping, maybe just dry camping, which is fine. We do that also.
We have had several problems with wildlife, never problems with people while boondocking. The funniest involved a skunk late at night. I was convinced someone was outside our camper until I peeked out the door and found myself looking at the business end of a skunk digging through the garbage can for chicken bones. I closed the door VERY quietly and let him be. We NEVER through meal leftovers outside at night anymore!
