If y'all are into trains you might want to check out the Kate Shelley High Bridge just west of town. (Links are to my blog entries about my visits.)
To get there from town you can travel a bit of the old Lincoln Highway which is now called county road E41 (Or old highway 30 or 216th Dr. take your choice.)
Not too far away, also bits of the original Lincoln Highway,
are the Lincoln Highway Bridge in Tama and the Preston Gas Station in Belle Plaine.
