Except that US 36 is not currently recommended for RV travel, due to the major reconstruction sites on the roadway from the flooding last September. Significant delays, rough dirt road, 1 lane travel through the construction sites with a pilot car -- when I took that route without my trailer a few weeks back, it took 2 hours to get from Estes to Lyons.

Thunder Mountain is right on. I also lived in Estes but not nearly as long as him. RV parks in Estes have also deteriorated terribly over the last few years. And make sure you check out the roads due to the massive flooding last year.

We have searched around that entire area for a decent RV park. We have family that we like to visit in Broomfield. Our visit last year was to St. Vrains. I wouldn't necessary rate it high, but it was just ok. We didn't feel any type of warm welcome there, and felt that it was just an ok place to park the motorhome. Just my opinion that we will be looking for an alternative park when we travel there this year.

You must have been out in what we call 'The desert', where the FHUs are & no tree. A desolate place. The north loops, where the poor folks camp, have the trees & are far nicer.
