If you can get by with just electric sites, we loved Golden Gate State Park just North of Golden CO. Very scenic at 9000 ft elevation, with great bath houses and laundry facilities. I remember paying an annual pass fee as well but we stayed in several state parks that year in Colorado. We made the mistake of following the directions on the website which was a white knuckle experience. You would want to approach from the West entrance, rt 119 off I-70 to rt 72
