Hello everyone. we had reservations at a campground in cortez but have to cancel those due to pet policy. Its ok. they have their pet policy and we decided to get a pound pup that's 50 lbs. Any other campgrounds in the area? Closer to the beach the better. We've never been to gulf coast of florida and really appreciate any info.

We were at Ft Desoto two weeks ago.They have a pet loop, and a dog beach, oh and a human beach.Tough to get into, but you might check for cancellations.

Timberlane in Bradenton. Just off I-75. Nice park, great owners.

http://www.buttonwoodinletrvresort.com/default.aspx/HomeWe LOVE this park. It is right across the intracoastal from the Gulf, short walk or bike ride to the beach. Right on Cortez Rd. We've been going there for a couple years and take our pups with us every time without incident.

I've stayed at Sun n Fun a few times when I can't get State Park reservations. Mayakka State park on the East side of 75 in Sarasota is nice. Oscar Sherer in Osprey is another decent park, but the spots can be small.
