Brand new park near Portola, Calofornia!

So we're out doing a day trip up from Reno to Lake Davis near Portola. As usual, I'm checking out the campgrounds along the way in anticipation of the next visit. Pull into one that was beyond anything I've ever seen in California. Breathtaking! Think state park environment with much bigger sites and full hook-ups. Seems it just opened last week. At this point the owners are only interested in long term tenants. Not weekly, but monthly. That doesn't appeal to me, but this place is gorgeous enough, just might next spring. So, if you're looking for a long term place to stay that offers mountains and trees with a gorgeous lake just down the road, you gotta look into this one! Their website isn't up yet, but there was a write-up in the local paper last week.

    Looks like they are offering 1 year leases for sites.
    are you and the OP going to bother to name the CG, or continue teasing us?

    I figured it out by looking at the link url in the OP's latest post;

    Honestly guys, I didn't want this to look like an advertisement for them. Just a suggestion for a fantastic park. That's why I referenced the write-up in the paper. http://www.sierraadventures.com/CrockerSpringsRVPark.html suggests it is a year long lease. That's not what the female owner lead me to believe. But it is a beautiful park!

  • Thanks for the heads up. We've done a lot of camping in that area, Frenchman's, Lake Davis, Little Bear, Quincy to name a few.

    Let us know when you hear more...thanks again.
