We are considering going to southern Utah and have a question about Bryce and Zion canyons. I have some disability that limits how much walking I can do. We are wondering how much scenery can we see in parks by driving or at least not walking far. We would not be able to due any hiking on the trails. We would have to drive about 8 hours from our primary destination to get to Bryce and want to make sure it is worth the trip.Thanks

Bryce you be good with a drive thru,, Zion not so much. but you can take the buses and see a lot.

Both have plenty of pull-outs, especially Bryce.

In both cases we used the shuttle. Then in Bryce we drove our toad along the one long road not covered by the shuttle. In Zion we only used the shuttle but didn't go out to the tunnel.

Both parks have shuttles. However, at Bryce the shuttles don't travel along the edge. What you will want to see is far down below. You'll need to get out and back on at some of the viewpoints in order to really see great views. At Zion, you're on the canyon floor and you'll be looking up from the shuttle to see the canyon walls. I think you'd enjoy both parks and it wouldn't take much walking.

Do be aware that the tunnel on the eastern entrance to Zion cannot accommodate tall trailers.

There are lots of things to see in both Zion and Bryce that do not require much walking. You'll love both.

You can get a great overview of both with a small amount of walking. We did a few trails at both but would have enjoyed both without the walks.

The shuttle at Zion is great but if you have a Handicap Pass, you can drive your own vehicle into the park where the shuttles go. Stop where you want or not. Of course you will want to drive up to and through the tunnel, and then return. More terrific scenery.

Getting out of the shuttle at each stop is important for seeing the sights, but you need not walk far to see. In Zion, the grandeur of the peaks all around cannot be appreciated until you step outside the bus.
