We are headed out for a few weeks of travel after Labor Day. First destination was/is Bryce Canyon. Any recommendations for a 2 or 3 day stay? I just looked at RV Park reviews and it was not very helpful.. The first two sounded pretty bad, and the last one was pretty expensive at 46 dollars a day imo.Any suggestions?Thanks Barb

We really liked Bryce Canyon Pines RV Park -- very quiet, campsites are well off the road. But some folks have complained about the electrical system. We had no problem with it.

At Bryce we always stay at Ruby's Inn RV camp located just outside the park entrance. VERY nice cg with water & electric. Sites large nough for big rigs & most are Pull Thru sites. Nice 'Campy' atmosphere in the park even tho it's within walking distance to all amenities ... Motel, resturant, shops & even full service gas station with RV repair bays! In the Nat'l Pk. there are 2 camps. Water only. Sites are kinda small & usually full. If you don't need electric there is a really beautiful Forest CG about 10 miles west of Bryce on Rt.12 called Red Canyon. It almost rite across the road from the famous natural tunnel. Great, large sites in wooded area. Its like U'r camped at the bottom of Bryce among the hoodoos. 1st come 1st serve.While visiting Bryce make sure to do the Navaho trail hike down into/thru/among the spires. Amazing hike and not too terribly difficult.About 10 miles east of Bryce on Rt.12 is Kodachrome State park. Again, water only, but very nice large sites. A great hiking area.

We stayed at the Red Canyon Campround. No hookups but a excellant dump station and water to fill with. Here is some info.Red Canyon is located along Scenic Byway 12, just 9 miles from Bryce Canyon. Passing through it is required to get to Bryce Canyon National Park from the west. From the east, stay on Highway 12, past the junction of highways 12 and 63 for 9 miles, to find Red Canyon. As part of Dixie National Forest, rather than a national park or monument, there are no entry fees to drive through or hike in Red Canyon. Dont know if no hookups will work but the weather should be cool at night and very close to Bryce. Nice and quiet and clean. We had no problem getting a site and we here when school was still out. Google it, it is very pretty. I see you have a big rig there. There is a couple of sites that would probably work but it would be tight.

We used Kodachrome SP, kind of a mini Bryce.

Why not stay at Bryce's North Campground, they have sites that will handle your rig.

Thanks for the suggestion, but we are kindof parshall to a few hookups.

I like at least electric and water if possible.:)

We stayed at Rubys in Sept 2012 for 4 days. Very nice RV park. Park service had a nice tour of Bryce that left from Rubys front door. Great restaraunt as well. I'd stay there again. Easy to drive int o Bryce from the RV park.

Would not consider anything but the North CG in the park. Anything outside the park is just another commercial CG.

I've driven 40 miles to get a bag of ice. (Well OK, round trip.) It isn't like Panguitch is in Salt Lake County.

Red Rock Canyon RV Park's address is Panguitch, but it is on Hwy 12 - 1Thanks 5 minutes from Bryce Canyon.

Thanks Dance Chick and Bueala. It Red rock Canyon looks like a good fit for us

Just stayed 6 nites at Red Rock Canyon NF CG in mid July. Beautiful place, great sites, nice and cool weather. Were only going to stay three nites at first, but cancelled reservations at North Rim CG to base out of red rock instead, we liked it that much. Eat at Henries in Panguitch, fantastic burgers and shakes!
