The road around the cove and campground are paved. However, the two cross roads along with Parson road are gravel as are most of the pull-overs.
While it may be nicer without the traffic, plan on biking on other days too. There are plenty of places to move over for traffic, traffic moves slow, and there are lots of breaks in the traffic created by the slower than average driver.
